In order to restore function and cosmetics, various techniques have been created to repair head and neck defects after the surgery. Free tissue transfer using microvascular anastomosis has improved medical outcomes and the standard of living for patients with head and neck cancer as this technique has allowed surgeons to conduct more effective ablative surgery, but there is room for improvement to achieve a sufficient rate of survival.
